LOCATION: Chicago Cubs vs San Francisco Giants at Wrigley Field. Chicago, IL.
This post is part of my Chicago Trip series.
The Wrigley Field area offers up a great pre-game and post-game experience. There are 100 bars in the vicinity, no joke! Since the Iowa Hawkeyes game was the next day, Iowa fans were everywhere at the bars making Troy really feel at home.
We made it the Wrigley Field and actually had super nose bleed seats, but after two innings our friends let us sit with them in the lower left field section. Being spoiled by Fenway, I wanted to hear music and chanting, but there was none of that. Wrigley hosted mostly silent, no ads anywhere and presented a “just the facts, ma’am” ballgame. I am not saying I miss the ads, but I definitely like the interaction with the crowd like at Fenway. Wrigley prided themselves in giving a good old fashioned ballgame though, and that is exactly what they did.
The last 3 innings, our friends offered up a chance for us to sit directly behind home plate. It was a nice treat to have so many different angles for the game and definitely worthy to sit so close to the action. Wrigley gave a great historical aspect to the game, one that will not be forgotten any time soon.
* Thank you Troy for accompanying me on this adventure.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?: Yes, definitely! It was a great park to experience a ballgame in.
HOW TO DO THIS: They website offers tickets at a cheaper rate than outside vendors. http://chicago.cubs.mlb.com/chc/ballpark/index.jsp
