LOCATION: Renaissance Fair. Phoenix, AZ
This is part of my Arizona Trip series.
I’ve received quizzical looks when I told people I had never been to a Renaissance Fair before. The only thing close to that is that I’ve been to a Medieval Times dinner show in Florida. That totally doesn’t count though. I wanted to go to an actual festival! We arrived and already it proved worthy. There were lots of actors in costume, as well as regular people dressing up for the occasion. There were booths for crafts, wood and metal working, glass blowing and medieval dresses. You could get turkey legs to eat and goblets of beer to drink. The King and Queen walked throughout the court and there were jousting shows too. Overall, it was a fun experience. I think I would have enjoyed it more as a kid, but it was fun just the same.
* Thank you Becky for accompanying me on this adventure.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?: It was fun! I think everyone should experience this once.
HOW TO DO THIS: Look up festivals online. Arizona’s festivals take place in February. www.royalfaires.com/arizona
