LOCATION: Colorado River. Arizona
This item is part of my Trek America Trip Series.
After having a semi-cold adventure at the Grand Canyon, we were heading to the Colorado River for our last camp night.
It was a hot 99 degrees out when we arrived and actually felt good after being so cold the night before. Immediately upon arrival, we ran to get our swimsuits on and jumped into the river. The river was filled with people boating and jetskiing. We jumped in and were shocked to feel how incredibly cold the water was. I couldn’t believe that with how hot the temperature was, that it would be so cold, but it was. I couldn’t even get used to it since it was so cold. The area that the river was in also attracted a lot of biting flies.
They were everywhere. After about an hour of playing in the water, the sun began to set and we got out to prepare for our camp dinner and our night of sleeping in extremely hot weather.
*Thank you to all the great people on my trip for accompanying me on this adventure. It wouldn’t have been the same without you all.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?: Yes!
Trek America Travel is HIGHLY recommended. I would do this all over again a million times. www.trekamerica.com
