LOCATION: Route 66. Arizona
This item is part of my Trek America Trip Series.
Oddly enough, the actual REAL Route 66 no longer exists. It was replaced by other highways and byways. However, you can still get you kicks on Route 66 by going to the Historic Route 66 sites. On our way to Los Angeles, we stopped along the Historic Route in Arizona. The area really was like a drop back in time. Old buildings, old gas stations with the prices at 15 cents, and old stores helped bring you back in time. The place was littered with iconic stuff. There were old cars abandoned on the road or in front of shops. You could take pictures with Elvis or Marilyn Monroe. There were also souvenir shops everywhere. The whole area was pretty cheesy, but I guess they are trying to keep that area in the 50’s. I got my kicks, and ready for a real road again.

*Thank you to all the great people on my trip for accompanying me on this adventure. It wouldn’t have been the same without you all.
WOULD I DO IT AGAIN?: It was pretty cheesy, but I’m glad I did it once.
Trek America Travel is HIGHLY recommended. I would do this all over again a million times. www.trekamerica.com
